Permalink Think I’m a little low on protein this morning, because I really should not be as tired as I am. Should’ve had something better than a package of PB crackers, I guess. Dummy me.
But! My DS might come today. KB Toys projected a delivery date between December 5th and 12th, but according to UPS, its already in Ohio, which would make it odd if it didn’t arrive this week. And, depending on where the facility in Ohio is, it really could arrive today. That would be super cool.
I ordered one of the loose female bodies from Hero Builders. Hopefully it will be as nifty in person as it looks on the site. Also hopefully, I won’t have too much trouble finding a head I like for it. I have to buy it special, tho, because I got the black female body, and with the exception of a small My Scene Madison collection, I really don’t have any black female dolls. Unless you count Mattel’s Princess of Ancient Egypt, but while she is technically African, is more “vague exotic ethnic” in appearance. Integrity Toys makes an “Ancient Legends” Egyptian doll whose clothes kind of leave something to be desired, but is much more African in appearance. She might be a good head donor, actually, if I can find her cheap. I’m not gonna hold my breath on that one, tho.
Think I’ll go watch a movie. Maybe it’ll help wake me up a little.
Permalink My preorder of the “Hogfather” DVD has come in. We’re gonna pick it up next week. Hopefully I can get volume two of “His Dark Materials,” although if they have a nice boxset, I might just go for that, instead.
I’m not sure why I’m up. I meant to go to bed an hour ago. And actually, an hour before that, as well.
Did I ever mention that I got the Qui/’Dala Defense of Naboo set? I can’t remember if I posted about it, or just planned to. That happens to me more than you’d think. Or maybe not. Anyway. I got it, and including shipping it was less than most folks ask for an opening bid. AND IT WAS COMPLETELY UNOPENED. Honestly, I don’t know why no one outbid me. It has since been opened, because I collect for me, and my love of Star Wars, and not for resale value. Even if I put everything back, I always like to open things at least once. Of course, in this particular instance that involved removing the center pillar of the box, and so many damn twist ties and whatnot that Quigee and ‘Dala will never go back into place 100%. I’ll probably be moving them into cases eventually, but for now, they’re reclining within the box. Qui is fucking AWESOME. So much better than the regular Qui-Gon that he was worth the price, all by himself. Guh.
He does make me wish the other tall boys came in versions that towered properly as well, though. The only one that I’m aware of is the Old Anakin figure that came in a special set with a Vader book. Supposedly he was 13 inches. I have seen customs of Vader and Dooku done in the 13-14 inch range, though I have no idea where they got the taller bodies. I’ve never seen a tall Mace done, though. And, y’know, no one ever does Amidala and Maul in their proper teensy proportions. I wonder why?
Permalink I just watched “Katie Morgan on Sex Toys,” and its official: I have a GINORMOUS fucking crush on her. Cutest. Porn Star. Ever. I think I need to buy Katie-porn. Or at least DVDs of her HBO specials, because she makes me giggle and happy and smitten when an hour ago I was moody and weepy.

I see your gyuhhhh and raise you a ngyahhh. *twitches* Don’t believe what anyone says about bears being hairy for warmth or protection, GOD MADE THEM HAIRY ‘CAUSE LOOKING AT THEM NAKED FREAKED HIM THE FUCK OUT.
Ahem. Moving on. I’ve been trying to find a how-to for traditional Japanese hairstyles. I can find all kinds of images, and selling of hair ornaments and immortalgeisha.com has some really interesting in-depth on the whens and whys of maiko and geisha hairstyles, but no how. I’m starting to think I’m just going to have to invent something. Which is not a huge deal, as its for a doll, and meant to be more Japanese-inspired than straight Japanese, but its easier to change when you at least have some base guidelines, and honestly? Hair is not exactly where my creativity lies. I’ve had inch-long hair for about eight years now, that’s how hair-creative I am.
Oh, well. I’m not going to invent anything right now, anyway. I might even go to bed and risk the bear-mange nightmares.
