Spliced is the worst horror movie ever. Almost joyously so. Think "Freddy Krueger as The Wishmaster in The Ring." With a brief, vague attempt to rip off Fear-dot-com, and what could be a nod to the Leprechaun series, as well. Now factor in Drew Lachey, and the fact that its a direct-to-video Canadian-made film.
Yeah. One might wonder what could possess someone to watch it. And, honestly, it went something like this:
*sees box* Oh, yeah, that's not the most obvious rip-off ever.
*blinks* Does that say Drew Lachey?
*picks up box* It can't be the same Drew La--
*turns box over, sees the phrase "Lead singer of 98 Degrees, Drew Lachey"*--oh my god.
*takes box to Amelia* We have to see this. It looks so hideously bad, and Drew Lachey is in it, and it follows our fine tradition of really heinous films featuring pop people.
*Amelia looks confused but intrigued* Who's Drew Lachey?
*pokes at box, bouncing* 98 Degrees, yo. Look how bad this is!
And, y'know. Then we grinned at each other and rented it. Also Daredevil. In which Colin Farrell overacted hideously, and Jennifer Garner was exquisite, and all in all, itreallywasn'tasbadaspeoplekeptsayingitwas. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.
