So, went to Border’s yesterday, and since they’re having their “buy three, get one free” thing on manga and music and romance novels — and how exactly did they pick those three, y’know? — I picked up the first four volumes of Fruits Basket.

Don’t understand the title at all. Perhaps that will be become clear later? Eh.

Anyway. I’m kind of confused, because they keep referring to Uo-chan (who I lovelovelove and want to skin and icon and so on and so forth) as “Yankee.” Um? What the fuck? From the “Ultra Special Blah Blah Blah, Number 3” and the way most of the schoolgirls seem intimidated by her, I’m guessing “Yankee” has somehow become slang for “juvenile delinquent” in Japan. To which I again say, what the fuck?

I mean, seriously. I just. I don’t even know, man.
