Fun, and um. Stuff.

So, The Truth About Cats and Dogs was on Cinemax, and I watched it, because yes, I was horrifically bored, and I have a mild fascination with Cyrano-type stories, anyway. And I was reminded why, after an initial viewing back in the day, I never ever watched it again. Not cause its tired and trite, although, yes, it probably is. The casting just irritates me. I mean, I like the guy. He’s got nice eyes and an accent, so he’s earned my approval. I like Janeane Garafalo, even if I can’t spell her name to save my life. And generally, I like Uma Thurman, as well. She was, after all, on my Wife List (long story) and she has the same mouth/chin area as my best friend, so goodness there.

But Uma looks horrible in this movie. They keep going on and on about how fucking beautiful she is, and she looks like she hasn’t slept in a year and has been living on Pez that entire time, and her hair is thin and limp, and….bleh. Janeane meanwhile, spends the entire movie looking fucking adorable, and they act like she’s the female equivalent of Carson and Carrottop melted together….just with a personality. Its painful to me, and makes me want to bitch slap every casting agent who ever existed.

Well. Maybe not every casting agent. Whoever cast QaF will be getting a cookie instead…..
