Permalink Toying with dQ’s version 5. I’m sort of dimly considering using frames, altho for the life of me, I can’t tell you why. Perhaps because it currently looks like this and I can’t decide how I feel about it. I like the image, I like how Lance is all, “Peekaboo! MINE!” and JC seems very happy to be claimed. Also, I like the dim blues and the blinds effect, altho you can’t really make that out in the cap; when I shrunk it down it just ended up looking dark, but trust me, its kinda neat. Violently hate the title graphic, but then, I tend to hate most of the graphics I do for dQ. Which is probably why Amelia does them half the time.
Its very, very tempting to just take the current template, change the colors, and do a Lanced version of the title graphic. Because I really really like this one, and I hated the Nightvision layout, passionately goddamn hated it, which is a shame because I liked the name, and Vin Deisel, and Pitch Black is just one of my favorite films, but DAMN I hated it. Then again, most of my layouts here are just variations on each other. Which might be why I’m considering frames, because that would at least require me to think a bit.
Or maybe I should just whine to Amelia, and flatter and beg, and swear that I will under no circumstances use anyone from any boyband when I redo Skins… of the WinAmp Persuasion for her, no matter how much I might like the Leather Chair Photos, or how insanely pleased I get whenever we have matching layouts, if she will only, please gods and goddesses, fix fracking dancing Queen for me.
……..ne, you think that would work?
Permalink I seem to be on a minor CD-burning rampage. Ages ago, Amelia burned an Aikawa Nanase mix CD for me, but ever since my mom got her new Gateway, I’ve been itching to take the CD-RW drive for a spin. So yesterday, morning, I did. And yes, my creation was poppy and evil, and yes, I do enjoy it muchly. And I just two minutes ago finished burning a bizarre 80s hits CD that combines all the songs I actually like off Rock of the 80s vol 2 and More of VH1’s The Big 80s in one glorious shrine to shiny happy lameness. And I am even now pulling together more CDs in my head, because good god, I love music and doing anything remotely creative, and doesn’t this just combine the two fantastically?!
You realize of course that part of my erection for burning CDs is the fact that afterwords I get to make labels and cover art for them, right? I mean, really, people, you could at least try to pretend that you’ve been paying attention….

Watched A.I. Artificial Intelligence, which is nearly as long as its name, and had me this close to tears in about half a dozen places. Which is strange when you consider that I thought the kid robot was fucking psychotic. Oh, my god. I mean, he was sweet as hell, and I think Haley Joel Osmet did a good job, but trust me, “mommy’s” love or lack there-of had nothing to do with him being a machine and everything to do with him being SCARY. Loved Jude Law’s prostitute Mecha, tho. He was so blissfully self-centered and uninformed, and yet in other ways he was the smartest, most giving person in the film. Also? They did a fabulous job of taking Jude’s natural beauty and making it just a shade too perfect, his hair just a bit too stylized, his skin just a touch too smooth and shiny to be anything but synthetic. *grins* Can you tell who my favorite was?

Then again, when she’s telling you that you should go and do the lame obsessive deeds that you really want to do anyway, and even offers her services…who would really want to resist? Just sit back and enjoy the pretty lights, ok?

Permalink I love how, I could be happily asleep, and instead, I’m filling out surveys at random sites, and finding out my Lance Fan Name (Lance’s Sarcastic Partier) and taking bizarre tests that I’m not even sure why I’m taking them, and yet….I tend to be so entertained by the results. o.O;
I am 60% addicted to Lance. How addicted are you?
Permalink For some bizarre reason, I found myself playing with a new splash page for skin me…. Well, to be perfectly honest, I think I was starting on a new layout, cause Bass-line’s been up about five months, and the average lifespan of layouts there is more like three, but seeing as how it was shaping up to be more Lance-ness, I’m loathe to actually call it a new layout.
Also? I didn’t really get any farther than the splash image before I fled like the gods-damned wind.
Permalink I FOUND IT!!!!!! *bounces and cackles* The Timberlake picture I wanted, for the AmPop skin? SO totally fucking found it. Go, me! I mean, I really truly would’ve preferred to find an oversized scan of the original image instead of having to cannibalize a graphic for it….but all that was really done to it was a white drop-shadow to give it a glowy-effect, and a nasty purple swirl background, both of which I’m completely cutting out, because I have no use for them, and no desire to have a use for them. Still, mild guilt there.
I have this feeling that Sparkles.nu probably has/had the pic in their gallery, completely untouched, but they’re largely shutdown for a site redesign and a gallery over-haul, so I probably won’t know for quite some time, if ever, and its been cheesing me off to have all the Nsuck boys done except for The Timberlake. *shrugs* What can I say, odd things bother me…..
Permalink Escaped into the mists that are Amelia’s house for a bit. It was nice, cause time with Amelia always is, and I got to have a change of scenery for a bit, and we watched some MST3K and played probably far too much Diablo 2, and for some sick reason she fed my *Nsync obsession. Also got to see Jane, and she seemed to be okay, or at least better, cause I mean, she’s not acting quite like her old self, but then, this soon? I’d really be worried if she was.
The only real downside to going to Amel’s this time of year is its so friggin’ cold. I mean, I was sleeping fully dressed. I’m still kind of cold right now, altho some of that is probably the way the wind is howling past the house this morning.
And in other news….Des’ birthday is in two days. On the Line comes out on video in four. And yes, I am still a sick, sick, mental, wrong, sick girl.
