Skin: Twelve Volt Battery Featuring: Jetta of the Misfits Comments: I was kind of going for chunky! and eighties! and, um. Yeah, I'm...not entirely sure myself. Interestingly, that pink was pulled straight from Jetta. The doll had lavendar eyes and lipstick, the art, apparently, was closer to Jem!pink. Who knew? Fonts used include Bremen, Tahoma Bold, and Tags Xtreme. Jetta scan from Holographix, I believe.
I'm hoping to get my hands on some more oversized, HQ scans of box art, so I can do some more of these, but finding Jetta was kind of a fluke, and its not like I still have any of my old boxes laying around.
Eh. Cest la guerre. |

Skin: Every Average Girl Featuring: Stormer of the Misfits Comments: Stormer gave me the worst time trying to figure out a color scheme. Jetta was no problem, y'know, she's black, white, and silver all over, the only real color's her lipstick. Not Stormer, oooooooooooooh, noooooooo. Black, white, pink, orange, blue, green, yellow. Not to mention the almost-chartruese of her instrument. I went with the orange because I figured its the one color she has that no one else wears. I think. o.0; Fonts used include New Romantics, Tahoma Bold, and RD Honey. Fantabulous Stormer scan found at Perfect Blue, a fantabulous Stormer fansite.
I have no idea why the volume bar looks like an M, because its an S. It still works, I guess. Mary/Stormer/Misfit. Whatever. |

Skin: Like a Zip Gun on Parade Featuring: Roxy of the Misfits Comments: Um. Okay, see, the background? That was me trying to mimic Roxy's Amazing Technicolor Pants (which...you can't even see on the skin. Oy). I don't know that I succeeded, but I do think its helps balance out Roxy's Big White Void of Hair. I'm not happy with the numbers. I didn't really like anything else I tried, either, so unless I suddenly see a font that makes me go, "yes! Roxy!" its pretty much staying as-is.
Fonts used include Effexor, Tahoma Bold, and Andy. I have no idea where I found the Roxy scan. Possibly the Truly Outrageous! ML? My memory is shit, y'all. |

Skin: Bad Moon Rising Featuring: Pizzazz of the Misfits Comments: I tried a few different bg colors for this one. My favorite was a purplish steel color that kind of reminded me of the doll's shoes, but next to the chartruese of Pizzazz's hair, it just looked washed out and, well, unPizzazz-y. So, I went with magenta from her dress, which I then had to fade out so you could better see some of the working bits, thus turning it a bit more of a true pink. Its possible it came out too far on the Jem side of the color, but if anyone would get it into their head to show Miss Goody Two-Shoes how to wear her own signature color...its definitely Ms. Gabor.
Fonts used include Impact, Tahoma Bold, and Jayne Print. Pizzazz came from a scan of the Misfits poster, which much like Roxy was probably found via the TO!ML, but I can't actually remember for sure. |

Skin: A Brilliant New Sensation Featuring: Clash of the Misfits Comments: So...okay, technically, Clash isn't really a Misfit. Pizzazz would certainly never let her on stage, or even in a limo with the band except to rub it in someone's face, and even then she'd proably kick her out a few blocks away. She's really more of a lackey. But she certainly thinks she's the unofficial fifth Misfit, and I personally think she's earned the label, if she wants it. (Seriously, the shit Pizzazz made her do on the show....) Anyway, the whole kind-of-but-not-really thing is why I chose to give her a somewhat different volume bar, and a REALLY different...um. Whatever you call those things on the eq. Yeah, I still don't know. But then she has the same knobs on the eq and pledit as most of the Misfits, because, um. Just because, I guess.
Fonts used include Tahoma Bold. Clash scan courtesy of Jem Things & Stuff. Outrageous! |
